Our team are huge believers in making decisions based on your longterm goals and vision of who and where you want to be in all areas of your life.
We constantly teach our community to always ask “are the actions that I’m taking on a regular basis getting me closer to where I want to be?”
That’s a great question to ask yourself on a regular basis.
So ask yourself that question right now- are the actions that I’m taking on a regular basis getting me closer to where I want to be?
What answer did you get?
For a lot of people the answer would be no- their actions are not supporting where they say they want to go with their health, fitness and lifestyle.
There are a few main reasons for this but one of the biggest ones is that many people fail to look beyond tomorrow when making decisions that affect their quality of life. They opt for short-term gratification without looking at the bigger picture.
- they’ll comfort eat based off of how they feel NOW instead of how shit they’ll feel tomorrow
- they’ll skull back 10 pints based on how they feel NOW and ignore the fact that they have seriously high blood pressure
- They’ll hit the chipper to satisfy how they feel NOW instead of hitting the gym- despite the doctors warning about their heart
And guys, I get it. It can be so hard to look beyond NOW when you are feeling crappy, stressed, have a chaotic lifestyle, overweight or whatever your situation is. I struggled myself for a long time to do it
But if you want to get out of the rut you’re in to enjoy your life more then it needs to be done.
Take home message is this.
ditch the short lived highs of instant gratification (most of the time at least) and start making your decisions based off of long-term quality of life and health benefits.
And once you accept that, it becomes so easy and your actions will start to support where you say you want to be with your health and fitness.
