Hi everyone!
My name is Stephanie and I am a third year Exercise and Health Studies student from Waterford IT.
I am originally from Kildare but have just recently moved to Cork and I just love it here! I am excited joining the Steve McGrath Health and Performance Team for my work placement. I have a keen interest in weight lifting and nutrition.
I started my fitness journey in 2012 after having a bad fall that needed reconstructive surgery on my right ankle, to this day I still have pain on a daily basis but there is always a way around exercising to be able to achieve your goals no matter what!
The Rehab was in a gym setting with a lot of work on the floor and in the pool, whilst there one day I bumped into an old friend and started weight training with them, and have been hooked ever since.
My qualifications so far include:
- Basic Gym Floor
- Basic Strength and Conditioning
- Group Fitness Instructor
- Spin Instructor
- Pilates Instructor
- Level 1 Kettlebell
Outside of the gym I love to walk my dog, his name is Bruce and he’s the best boy! Who knows I may be able to bring him in someday to meet you guys 😉
I also love to not only eat a truck of food but cooking and experimenting with new ingredients and recipes.
I hope to develop myself personally as well as professionally and to go back to college with a bucket load of experience and knowledge.
Looking forward to meeting you all!
