Steve’s Note: Killian has received this months client of the month for a few reasons. He has be uber consistent in his training, despite a hectic schedule all week and all year round he never fails to get into the gym and never complains about having to do so. He follows the ‘extra-curricular’ guidelines such as preparing food at home, getting his daily 2L intake of water and also enjoys himself when the occasion arises which is also very important. In the past few weeks especially Killian has taken on board what it means to up the ante, his sessions have gotten a little bit more intense than previous, not because of coaching but because he has chosen to do so and put 100% real effort into his sessions, he reaps the rewards in terms of energy and strength for everyday life. Well done Killian, keep it up!
“I had found I had got myself in a bit of a health and fitness rut over the past few years of eating all the wrong food (processed foods, takeaways, alcohol) and doing not doing any exercise. I wanted to be healthier but didn’t know where to start. I found the guys at Steve McGrath Health & Performance.
My Main goals at the time was that I wanted to get my weight down, lose a bit of body fat mostly. I had pain in my back all the time but thankfully that has all gone now. Through an individualised program I have got many unexpected benefits also such old injury improvements, I feel I have stronger joints, I have less tightness, etc. Also the big one is that my energy level is much better and I feel stronger.
To be honest I had an impression prior to starting and thought it would be intimidating to walk into a gym but it was the opposite I was made feel relaxed and everyone both coaches and clients were very approachable and helpful. I love the atmosphere in there I throw in a few requests on what music to put on every now and then which makes it even more enjoyable.
Coaches Note: When speaking to people about training they mention that they would have loved to have started training last January but kept putting it off because of how self conscious they felt and how intimidating the gym can be. After a quick tour of the gym, a few introductions to other clients it can make you feel right at home. Going to the gym should not ever be a battle with self-consciousness, the bottom line is to find a good trainer who warmly welcomes you each visit and listens to you!
It’s not just training, the client support structure such as the Facebook group is great to share tips and recipes from the trainers and the clients. Because of this I have learned to prepare my lunches for work when before I would grab something quick from a deli. The weekly emails and videos are always interesting too. As for the atmosphere in the gym all of the 3 coaches have a real interest in their work. You can tell they really enjoy it. It’s very professional, but still enjoyable.
My advice for anyone thinking of training with Steve McGrath Health & Performance is to Stop putting it off, get the free consultation, you can’t go wrong!
