Steve’s Note: Michael has been training with us for a long time now. He is undoubtedly one of our most consistent clients. Michael has 3 kids, a demanding job and lives some distance from the gym but he still makes the time to come in every week and train hard. Michael is a dream client in the sense that he is consistent, there’s no fuss attached and listens to his coach from the moment the session starts. Well done Michael!
I’m a 37 year-old, self-employed father of three. I travel a fair bit with work and have a tendancy to develop back pain if I don’t stay strong and flexible. My sleep hasn’t been good since the kids came along so I have to try and eat and train as healthily as possible to keep myself fit.
Since starting training with Steve a 6 years ago I have seen improvements in my all round mental and physical health, stress management, strength improvement and fitness.
I’m much stronger and fitter since I first started training with Steve a while back. I can do all the basic lifts and kettlebell movements and am comfortable doing things like ring chin-ups and moving along the monkey-bars. I can squat 125kg at 74kg bodyweight.
My aerobic fitness is much better. I am totally free from back pain and my posture is much improved. I have much more energy, despite not getting as much sleep as I woud like. I have learned how to maintain my flexibility when travelling. Most importantly I’m fit enough to run, swim and play with my kids as well as carry them around when necessary!
One big thing that I know many people look for is that I find that my stress levels from work are much lower than before I started training.
As for the gym itself the atmosphere is fantastic. There is a great mix of fitness levels among the clients and it’s a very positive, friendly atmosphere. The coaches know how to tailor each session to how I feel on the day, taking travel, work, sleep etc. into account.
Coaches Note: It is very important to have coach that listens to you and take into account your current health and energy levels. Things like proceeding to train hard all the time despite arriving home at 3am from Dublin airport etc. is never ideal preparation for training. Get a coach that listens to you!
The guys provided me with a support structure so that my health is a priority but that it’s so easy to maintain. Thing like food diaries, Facebook forums, 1000’s of recipes, nutrition guidelines and principles and also 1:1 meetings with my coach all help. In particular I have a much better understanding of how my food affects my training and my results.
All the coaches are top-class professionals who train hard themselves, which is very important to me. Just give it a try – I can honestly say that it has changed my life for the better.
