One of the questions we ask people during their consultation before they come on board any of our programs is why they haven’t achieved their hoals/what their biggest obstacle/why do they find it so hard to get motivated and stay consistent, etc.
You get the idea.
And without a doubt the most common response we hear is “because I’m lazy.”
And to be honest, 99% of the time I don’t think it’s the real reason.
Sure, you might feel lazy, tired all the time, no motivation to take care of your health & fitness and all that.
And of course, you could be the laziest person to who ever walked the planet —->>>>> that is 100% possible!
But more often than not they are not lazy. Many of them work 10, 12 or even 14 hours a day on their feet. Others work 6 to 7 days a week. Others work 2 jobs.
Some work and then go to college after. Others never stop going from one end of the day to the other due to family commitments and everything that entails.
Other were super-fit most of their lives.
These people are far from lazy yet that is what many of them say is their biggest obstacle.
So whats the real issue?
From my experience, I see people who have drifted, over many years, into a rut that they find it hard to get out of. Work, commitments, parenthood, family demands, major life setbacks, etc. are all screaming for their time and energy.
When time is scarce most people usually put their health and fitness on hold. They also start to eat more processed foods, watch more mindless t.v. (because it’s just so easy) and neglect their sleeping habits.
Add to this dehydration, less nutrient rich foods, other habits such as smoking and you have a recipe for ‘Laziness” that just seemed to creep up on you.
In my experience, people are just robbed of so much of their energy and drive from these factors and they don’t have the knowledge of how to get out of them.
Laziness becomes their default setting but more often than not their character is far from lazy when allowed to flourish in the right environment.
If you find yourself in this situation but you know deep down that you’re not a naturally lazy person, getting a coach is one of the best moves you’ll ever make because they’ll provide you with a few super-powerful tools to get you back on track- accountability, community, knowledge and support.
These are the tools that get you out of a rut, not another youtube program.
Take home golden nugget of wisdom: Before you tell yourself that you’re lazy for the umpteenth time, take a step back and analyse if you’re being honest with yourself or if your natural energy is just being robbed from you by the decisions you’re making each day out of convenience, lack of accountability, lack of knowledge, etc.
Make sense?
